A Japanese commercial for beer. 

This is a commercial project for a fake product. The beer is called "Smiling Beard" which claims that it is fully edible. Smiling Beard was made by gelatin-for bottle cap, rice paper-for tag, sugar glass for bottle, and food coloring for paint. Including the beer inside, it was designed to be eaten as a whole.

The actual purpose for this project is to use animation commercial to present how different sensations work in beer packaging. Since packaging design relate little to the sensation of taste, this product intend to broke this perspective. Using the consistent weird but interesting style of Japanese commercial to show the story of Smiling Beard. It also used the characters and punch line from Alice in Wonderland to talk through this story in an odd but attractive way. 

This animation was later on made into a puppet art work which entered the Art Inspired Exhibit hold by Iowa State University. The art work was accepted to be displayed in the show and won the award of Honorable Mention.
